NICOP is the card of identity for overseas Pakistanis while CNIC is the national Identity card for Local Pakistanis. NICOP is a travelling document that offers a VISA FREE entry in Pakistan while you cannot travel on the basis of CNIC as this is the local resident’s card. Same is the case with the smart card as well which is also a local resident’s identity card.
